Delmira Agustini was born in Montevideo, Uruguay on October 24, Tuesday, December 7, Explosion – Delmira Agustini. Forged from a partnership between a university press and a library, Project MUSE is a trusted part of the academic and scholarly community it serves. Thus my goal is to post one poem each day for a year as an exercise and meditation on the subject. In this poem I like the way the author took negative emotions of sorrow and sadness and change them to positive emotions of joy and love.

A month after that, Reyes fatally shot Agustini twice in the head and afterwards committed suicide. She is buried in the Central Cemetery of Montevideo.

Now it blooms in light like a flower of Phoebus: Eros is the protagonist in many of Agustini’s literary works. No other poem speaks as much to me in encouraging that optimistic, hopeful view. Initially, her desire for love was displayed by her eplosion of the precious value of it.
